About us
A Montessori school, not a day care.
Heritage Montessori is a fully owned and operated private school and child care facility serving the Murphy, Allen, and North Texas areas. We follow a balanced approach: the Montessori Method challenges children while everything still feels like play, so each child gets a strong start in learning.
Our Murphy campus
The whole child.
The Montessori Method here serves the development of the whole child: academic, social, emotional, and spiritual. Every part of the day works on all four at once, and the aim is a lifelong love of learning.
-
Academic
A rigorous academic program covering math, science, history, geography, and language, presented through an integrated approach.
-
Social
Classes hold a well-balanced division of ages and an appropriate number of children, so there is ample room for social development.
-
Emotional
Self-discipline, care for the environment and others, and the motivation that comes from within, kindled rather than rewarded.
-
Spiritual
An inner life that grows quietly through the day, as a child learns to care for the room, for living things, and for one another.
Work the child chooses
A strong start, not the minimum.
We differentiate ourselves from the ordinary day care environment, which emphasizes state minimum standards and DFPS inspections and not learning. We certainly understand you are looking to give your child a strong start in learning, and that is the whole point of our days.
The Montessori Method advocates self-discipline to care for the environment and others, self-directed learning, and developing a passion for learning.
Open early, open late.
We offer extended hours for working families. The Montessori Method runs through the heart of the day, with arts, sports, languages, outdoor play, music, and computers filling the rest. The balanced approach challenges children while everything still feels like play.

Our staff
Teachers who have stayed.
Children's learning is our first and foremost goal, along with meeting and exceeding standards in safety, care, and a positive environment for the teachers and staff. We believe happy teachers and strong administrative training lead to a well-balanced school.
Our lead teachers have been with us for years, some of them since 2005. They are Montessori trained in the AMI tradition, have strong educational backgrounds, and have been involved in the child care industry long enough to know what it means to go beyond the expected Minimum Standards.
One-on-one time
Programs
Infants through Primary.
Four programs, each in its own named classroom, grouped by what a child is ready for. Multi-age Montessori classrooms throughout.
Perhaps the greatest testimonial to the success of the Montessori method is Montessori student work. The quality, creativity, and cross-disciplinary nature of the class work speak to the intelligence and curiosity of the Montessori students that created it.
From our families
In the words of our parents.
My twins have been going to this school for past 3 years. The staff are attentive and school feels more like family. ... My kids have progressed a lot under her. She takes lot of care towards each kid and teaches according to interest of each kid. I am so thankful to everyone in the school.Preethi Raghavendra, Heritage parent
My two-year old twin daughters have been attending HMA Murphy for over a year. They have wonderful teachers and very caring support staff. I am impressed that, at their young age, my toddlers already attend classes such as Spanish, Music, Science, Art and Yoga.Kim JC, Heritage parent
Our family has been associated with this school since 2011 when my older daughter started in Ms. Williams' room. We now have two little girls in the same room and consider ourselves lucky that our children have received such an amazing experience and education early in life. ... Keep up the good work!Surabhi V., Heritage parent
